What are the types and characteristics of burner liquid fuels?

The commonly used liquid fuels for burners include heavy oil, residual oil and light diesel oil. Fuel is characterized by high carbon and hydrogen content and low moisture content, so it has a high calorific value, usually 40600~43100kJ/kg.

Diesel is generally used for ignition and stable combustion of medium and small heating boilers, domestic boilers and large boilers, while heavy oil is mostly used for power station boilers.

(1) Diesel: Diesel is a low-density fuel oil with low viscosity and good fluidity. It does not need to be preheated for atomization. The boiler can be started by direct ignition. Diesel contains less sulfur and has little environmental pollution.
(2) Heavy oil: Heavy oil is the general term for heavy distillates obtained by extracting light stuffing—gasoline, kerosene, and diesel oil in the process of petroleum refining. The main components of heavy oil are carbon and hydrogen, with little ash and water content. The calorific value is high and stable.
(3) Residual oil: Residual oil is the residue obtained in the process of petroleum refining. Its main components are polymer lamps, colloidal substances, etc., which can be directly used as fuel. Residual oil has a high viscosity and can flow when heated to a certain temperature, and its storage, transportation and management are very convenient.
